Prior to the trip, please make sure you are in the Convoi DC-2018 Slack Channel. If you haven’t seen an invite come through for that or are having any trouble please contact Trent or Ken. That Slack channel will be one of the primary ways of communicating together on the trip.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to Trent at trent@convoi.co or (925) 270-5099 or Ken at ken@convoi.co or (208) 309-7027.
Punctuality, Directions, & Safety
Please be on time as we move from event to event! As long as you stay with the group you won’t have to worry about any logistics. We have all shuttles, Ubers and transportation accounted for.
If you do get separated from the group, refer to the schedule in Google Calendar for clickable directions. You will be responsible for determining the best way to rejoin the group and the associated cost. We recommend taking an Uber to the current activity/location.
Confidentiality
What happens at Convoi stays at Convoi. Not really, but you should be ready for some deep conversations. Have you ever sat around a campfire deep into the night with some friends talking about life? Convoi is kind of like that. Assume that what you learn about a person’s business or personal life on this trip is not public information. The beauty of Convoi that everyone gets to let down their guard a bit, be a little vulnerable, and just talk to each other. We strongly believe that this is how real friendships get formed.
Be curious, humble & helpful
We have spent a lot of time curating and crafting each event (and even the down time between events) to provide opportunities for people to stretch and grow in new ways. Don’t be afraid to try new things! Convoi is all about exploration. It’s time to be curious.
Everyone has a unique story and can teach us something. Each person on the trip is here for a reason and we think you can learn a lot from them. Be humble and don’t be too big to talk to anyone. If someone in the group is shy, slow to open up, or different from you, be patient and give them a chance. We are confident that if you do, you’ll get to know a high-achieving, creative, amazing individual that can really help you grow.
At Convoi, our job is to help facilitate as much growth and value as possible, but value is only maximized as two things happen: People serve and are willing to serve. If someone asks how they can help your business, HAVE AN ANSWER. Relationships are strengthened as people serve, but the part people always forget is that if no one is willing to be helped, no one can be helpful.
